Wonderful fustian/wool banner made to celebrate the annexation of Austria happened on April 10, 1938.
Writing on banner says: "Unsere Ostmark Kehrt heim", that means "Our Ostmark returns home" (Ostmark was the old name used to indicate Austria).
Banner is in good condition, only one minor tear is visible (see pictures below) and the expected usage and patina.
It is a very nice example of fine craftmanship; banner is made on a fustian wine coloresd base with a red wool back side; letters and swastikas are made of brocade and fringes are of golden bullion.
Banner measures approximatively140 x 120 cm.
A quite early banner, a perfect display piece, especially for a tematic area or a museum.
