"6 DOT" CLOSE COMBAT CLASP IN SILVER
A nice Silver Close Combat Clasp by an unknown maker but known as "6 dot".
It is constructed out of a die struck, zinc-alloy base that has been Silver washed. The obverse depicts a crossed model 24 grenade and K98 bayonet with oak leaves, acorns and lined rays all beneath a Heer open winged eagle clutching a swastika in its talons. The reverse of the badge has no maker marks and it shows the typical 6 dots to keep the back plate in place.
It has the correct tombak catch, hinge and sturdy coke bottle pin. The pin, hinge and catch all work well. The plate is steel and magnetic. Catch, pin and hinge all shows Silver finish and perfectly work.
The badge depicts beautiful details throughout and the silver finish is still only partially visible.
An nice and not common example.
