This is an amazing, unique piece, a carved wooden treasure, an official period KIA war chest for the rememberance of the fallen hero within the soldier´s family.
It was meant to contain and preserve his personal belongings such as Soldbuch, awards, citations, letters, pics etc.
This piece was definitely officially ordered - obviously by a technical infantry unit – it is a very important masterpiece, unique and completely hand made and hand carved. The box is totally interlocking, no one single nail was used and has been manufactured by one of the most prestigious Third Reich firms, the well-known "ANRI" which is still in business today.

This beauty is in untouched original condition combined with fine patina - the inside has been masterly manufactured as well and is highlighted by the use of wrought iron hinges.
