ALMOST UNIQUE ITALIAN MADE BLACK SS VISOR CAP!

This is one of the EXTREMELY rare visor caps produced in Italy (only a handful are known!) for the SS; it was found in a depot in Bressanone (Italy) without insignia.
The visor shows black wool blend construction, it features a wide, black wool centerband and white wool piping to the top of the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the centerband. The front center of the cap has a zinc SS eagle and a zinc Totenkopf with most of their original finish still well visible.
The cap has a glossy, blackened, patent leather, chinstrap with two, black painted, sliding, vertically rectangular, sheet metal, length adjustment buckles. The chinstrap is secured to the cap by two, small, black painted, smooth finish, magnetic sheet metal buttons. The cap has a extended, forward, black, visor with a machine stitched, simulated, leather trim to the forward edge.
The interior of the cap is fully lined with a brown/orange colored ribbed rayon lining; celluloid diamond has some cracks and a small missing part, but is mostly still sewn in place. Name and adress of the maker are stamped under the diamond: "R. Baglioni via Cervino, 66 Torino". Turin was the city of the king, so of Royal Family, and also of the German Consulate headquarters, so a very important city where SS were almost always present.
Sweatband is still complete and soft, mostly still sewn in place (see pictures). Cap is roughly a size 57. It shows wear and a great patina.
A wonderful and absolutely rare black SS (possibly Allgemeine-SS) Visor Cap for NCO, perfect for display or to complete a mannequin.
