Wehrpass second issue, belonged to a Waffen-SS Soldier.
Gottwald Johann, born in 1905, started his service in W-SS units in 1943.From the beginning of 1944 he was in Stabskompanie of the SS Pz. Gren. Regiment 36 of the 16 SS Division (Reichsfuhrer) that fought in Italy.
At the end of the war he was captured by allies while he was fighting with the SS Pz. Gren. Regiment 36.
He survived the war.
