Awesome and rare privately purchased visored hat (Schirmmütze) for a Waffen-SS officer.
Lightly worn example having a fashionable shape to the peak, the cap body is made of feldgrau gabardine wool, cap band is made of black velvet and with white wool piping, having a black fiber visor.
The visor cap is fully lined in a soft ribbed pearl/grey colored rayon cloth, it has a pliable grey colored leather sweatband which is still partially zig-zag machine sewn into place and still soft; it has some small stains due to usage (see pictures). Celluloid diamond is not present anymore.
Insignia includes a zinc Totenkopf and a gorgeous tombak eagle with its finish still complete; a neat shadow is visible under them.
The visor was slightly worn and it shows a soft age toning and wear, it is absolutely free of tracking or repair. Chincords were period applied to the cap.
One of the few original Waffen-SS visor caps on the market; a rare piece of History.
