Very rare and in almost mint condition, Kriegsmarine Officer cuffitle; this incredible piece came from a vet home along with other Kriegsmarine items.
This cufftitle, a "Kriegsmarine Afrika Ärmelband", is constructed with a base of black rayon ribbon, the obverse bearing a hand-embroidered gold bullion wire inscription of "AFRIKA", trimmed with gold bullion wire tresses; the reverse has gauze fabric as support cloth for the cotton thread use to make the embroidery. Cardboard template is visible under the bullion embroidery, and this is an important characteristic for this type of Afrika hand made bullion cufftitle.
Measurements: 45 cm x 3,6 cm.
