LUFTWAFFE TROPICAL LIGHWEIGHT FLIGHT JACKET

Very rare Luftwaffe tropical lightweight flight jacket, type associated with use in the Mediterranean and other warm weather theaters.
Jacket is made from a tan colored water repellent cotton, it has functional metal zipper marked ZIPP and it has a brown leather pull, there are two PRYM marked snaps at the waistband and one at the throat, a fastening tab with dark grey colored composite buttons is located under the collar, each cuff is adjustable and may be fastened with two large blue glass buttons (the left sleeve has one missing and the other is chipped), inner windcuffs are made of elasticized blue/gray rayon and are also adjustable having PRYM snaps with dark brown colored snaps.
Jacket
has an external map pocket and a leather bar for the oxygen system
clip, there is an internal tightening belt at the waist. The collar was customized by the owner and covered with blue fur.
The bullion wool backed Luftwaffe eagle is hand sewn to the jacket; the BeVo cloth label with the maker RBRn number is machine sewn to the inner front closure.
Jacket was service used and has a wonderful patina, there are no noted tears or repairs; the zipper and snaps are all operational, a couple of the snaps have some very minor rust.
