CONCENTRATION CAMP INMATE SET

SOLD!

This is a really impressive and excellent museum set of tunic and cap that belonged to a former Czech inmate who was imprisoned in KL Dachau.

The concentration camp jacket is made using the legit thick striped wool. It comes with the number patch with number "44312" and the red triangle to identify him as political prisoner; the triangle has inside the letter "T" that stand for Tschech (Czech) nationality. Jacket is in very good condition and it preserves all the buttons and it doesn't have any damage to the fabric. The jacket has a partially hand sewn wool lining that was added by the owner to make it a warmer garment to wear.

The cap is the typical winter cap with thick blue/gray striped wool, used in many concentration camps such as Auschwitz, Mauthausen or Buchenwald. It is lined with a possibly civil striped cotton/rayon.

The set possibly belonged to Franz Junek, born on December 19, 1906, and imprisoned as political prisoner. Junek was a Czech citizen and he was sent to Dachau.

At the beginning of 1945 then he was moved from Dachau and on January 21 he arrived to Leonberg, a camp run by the SS in the upper "Seestrasse" that was active from spring 1944 to April 1945 as an outpost of the Natzweiler concentration camp (Alsace). It was safeguarded with barbed wire and watch-towers.

A great chance, for every museum or advanced collector, to get such a rare historical set.
